Holiday Breads & Happenings

Christmas is less than 2 weeks away! We’ve been very busy here in the bakery and have lots of new holiday specials, so whether you’re looking for a gift for a friend, something to bring as a hostess gift, a “must have” holiday tradition, or just a little treat for yourself, we’ve got you covered!

Panettone is a Christmas “must” for many. Panettone is an Italian bread with a light, airy texture., lightly sweetened and studded with golden raisins & apricots soaked in rum! There are many versions of panettone, and almost as many stories as to the origin of the bread. It dates back to the Roman Empire, but was popularized by a bakery war in the 1920’s. 2 Milanese bakers, Angelo Motta & Gioacchino Alemagna began mass producing panettone, and by the end of World War II panettone was affordable to everyone and quickly spread around the world as a holiday favorite. So if you’re looking to continue a holiday tradition, or start a new one, stop in for some fresh panettone!

Cinnamon Russian Braids are another holiday favorite. They are a sweet, rich dough with a cinnamon filling; almost like a giant cinnamon roll! They make fantastic gifts, and are a great addition to a Christmas brunch!

Cinnamon Russian Braids! Great for gifts or Christmas breakfast!

We also have Braided Raspberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cakes. We have to stop ourselves from eating all of these before they make it into the bakery cases!
